About the Program

On June 10-11, 2022, MUSC will host RHIP-TIDES, a new continuing education program designed for General Dentists who serve rural communities and wish to improve their skills in caring for early childhood populations.

Attendees will learn:

  • Restorative techniques through hands-on simulation.
  • Practice and patient management approaches to ensure successful incorporation of the age 0-3 population.
  • How to engage in collaborative referral management with pediatric medical providers

Attendees will have access to national and regional thought leaders who will be available for individualized coaching and panel discussions.

  • Medicaid 101 - Gerta Ayers, BDS, MPH
  • Sim Labs: Restorative Procedures and Pulp Therapy - Deirdre Williams, DDS, MS
  • Small Grant Application: Learn about a mini-grant opportunity to further enhance care for the 0-3 age population - Amy Martin, DrPH

RHIP-TIDES Location, Parking & Accommodations

The course will take place in the Basic Science Building, James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina, 173 Ashley Avenue, room BS433 (4th floor), and Sim Labs will be held in room BS540 (5th floor).
