Registration and course information

This certificate program is for dental hygienists and dental assistants who work in rural or underserved communities want to become community dental health coordinators.

This course is worth 25 hours of continuing education (CE) credits for dental hygienists and up to 31 hours of CE credits for dental assistants.

 

Nitrous Oxide Monitoring

Dental ClinicThis program is designed participants with the knowledge necessary to prepare for and complete the South Carolina State Board Nitrous Oxide Monitoring Examination. Participants will learn basic physiology and anatomy with the use of nitrous oxide analgesia. Indications and contraindications for use of nitrous oxide analgesia, including safety measures will be discussed. Through simulation exercises, participants will have an opportunity to demonstrate proficiency in the administration of nitrous oxide analgesia within a dental office setting.

This course is worth four hours of CE credit.
