Application Timeline

  • Submit AADSAS Application and Fee (June 1 through December 1)

The College of Dental Medicine is a participant in the American Association of Dental Schools Application Service (AADSAS) sponsored by the American Dental Education Association (ADEA). All applicants to the MUSC College of Dental Medicine must complete a new AADSAS application. 

Complete the AADSAS Application

  • Submit MUSC College of Dental Medicine Supplemental Application and Fee (July 1 through February 1)

Applicants to the Dentist Scientist Training Program (DSTP) must apply to the College of Dental Medicine. DAT scores are required, but GRE scores are waived. An additional essay, documenting how the DSTP will fit into each applicant's career goals is required.

MUSC Supplemental Application

  • Submit Additional Application Materials (July 1 through February 1)

Applicants will receive forms by email for additional required application materials after the College of Dental Medicine and the Office of Enrollment Management receives applications described above. Applicants are highly encouraged to use these forms for application materials to ensure that all information is complete, in an acceptable format, and easily matched to other application materials. Important instructions for these documents are included on the forms.

  • Applicant Interviews (Invitation Only) (Late September through February)

Applicants will be invited by mail for interviews with Dental Medicine faculty from September to February. 

  • Final Decisions Mailed to Applicants (Early December through April 15)
  • All Accepted Dental Students Begin Classes (Early June)

Applicants who have applied in previous years must submit new AADSAS, Graduate Studies and MUSC College of Dental Medicine Supplemental Applications and should update application materials for each new year.

The Dentist Scientist Training Program committee considers:

  • Evidence of serious, enthusiastic commitment to the program
  • Exceptional GPA and DAT scores
  • Receipt of baccalaureate degree prior to program matriculation
  • Record of advanced science courses
  • Evidence of research commitment
  • Strong recommendations from faculty
