Continuing Education Courses

The College of Dental Medicine offers continuing education courses designed to provide practicing dentists with opportunities to continue their education. Courses are designed to provide both didactic and clinical instruction in new methods and techniques.

The College of Dental Medicine does not have a central continuing education office, but you can direct your course questions to the departments listed below. 

The Carlos F. Salinas Dental Program 

Please join us on September 24, 2021, to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of our annual continuing education seminar held by The Carlos F. Salinas Dental Program for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Individuals with Special Health Care Needs!

Nitrous Oxide Monitoring

Do you need South Carolina Dental Association Nitrous Oxide Certification? This is an approved course that will prepare you for the South Carolina State Board Nitrous Oxide Examination. We will review basic physiology and anatomy within the use of nitrous oxide analgesia.  The "Nitrous Oxide Monitoring" course will be taught by Dr. Gabriel Ross, Assistant Professor of College of Dental Medicine, Department of Pediatric Dentistry. The course is open to dental assistants and dental hygienists working across all dental specialties. Please visit the South Carolina Board of Dentistry webpage for complete information on the application process.

The course will be offered on Saturday, October 9th and March 5th from 9 am to 3 pm. Online course registration is $200 and includes a box lunch.  Please download this information sheet for additional details.
