Here are some of common questions – and answers! – from current and prospective dental students about affording, applying, attending, and graduating MUSC.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can find spring break, semester start dates and other key dates on the Academic Calendar page. That page also includes a link to the university calendar so you can plan ahead.

The Student Resources page contains helpful resources and policies.

Start with MUSC's Services for Students with Disabilities page. The office can help you understand how to request accommodations, what documentation may be needed and who to contact as you move through the process. It’s best to reach out as soon as you know you may need support, especially for courses, clinical experiences, exams or temporary injuries or illnesses.

If you have questions about your financial aid, start with MUSC's Office of Student Financial Aid. The Financial Aid page includes current information about aid options, scholarships, loans, responsible borrowing, forms, deadlines and how to contact the financial aid team. Use that page as your source for the most up-to-date guidance on managing your financial aid while you're enrolled.

You don't have to figure out budgeting, borrowing or financial planning on your own. MUSC's Office of Student Financial Literacy offers resources, workshops, individual consultations and self-guided tools to help you make informed financial decisions while you’re enrolled. Use these resources to build a budget, understand your financial choices and plan for your financial well-being during dental school.

Financial aid stipends are issued by the Office of the Bursar after aid is disbursed to your student account, typically no earlier than 10 days before the start of classes. Refunds are generally processed within the first two weeks after the start of the term, in accordance with the Academic Calendar and federal regulations.

Students may receive funds via direct deposit or paper check based on their selected refund preference. For questions about timing or disbursement, contact the Office of the Bursar.

If you are a current student, please go to the registrar's office page. If you have any questions, please contact Enrollment Management at 843-792-3281.

You can find commencement details on the Commencement page. If you still have questions after reviewing that information, contact MUSC’s Registrar's Office.

If you need a letter of recommendation from the dean for your residency application, contact Andrea Roth in Office of the Dean at rothan@musc.edu.
